Accidental Invention is about to end the use of light bulbs
| Can you believe it? an invention like the light bulb can be deemed obsolete? Well this is how the story goes... A Vanderbilt graduate, Michael Bowers was trying to make small quantum dots and instead of giving out blue light which is basically how they're supposed to function... they gave a white glow.. In Bowers' own words... "I was surprised when a white glow covered the table," since "The quantum dots were supposed to emit blue light, but instead they were giving off a beautiful white glow." Quantum dots are so tiny... just a few nanometers big.. which is 1/1000th the width of a human hair.. you might just expect to see light emitted from utensils or from anything you can think of... The new invention can give out a light that can shine twice as bright as a 60 Watt light bulb and can last 50 times longer.. |
